Personal Appearance

All individuals who are providing a service on RMH campuses are required to obtain and wear an RMH temporary identification badge. A badge can be obtained from Protective Services with assistance from the department. Please return the badge to the department before leaving when you have completed you experience at RMH. If you are functioning as a student, please wear your student ID provided by your institution.

All students, volunteers, contractors, sales representatives, and associates are required to wear appropriate attire or designated attire while carrying out activities for RMH. Please remember, when you are in our facilities wearing an RMH badge, you are representing RMH meaning only professional conduct and appearance is acceptable.

Clothing should be clean and professional looking. Some clothes are not appropriate including tank tops, halter tops, low cut tops, tops showing off midriff, shorts, cut offs, Capri pants, short mini skirts, bandanas, camo apparel, hats, denim clothing, clothing with graphics related to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc. If you must question whether or not a garment is appropriate, it probably is not.

Wear appropriate footwear if you are going to be in a clinical area and walking. Heels, sandals and open toe shoes can be a safety hazard. Please wear closed toe shoes.

Some clinical area may require you to wear a lab jacket.

A reasonable number of earrings are acceptable, but other body piercing should not be worn. In clinical areas please do not wear rings unless it is an engagement ring and/or wedding band. Rings can harbor bacteria. Nails should be well manicured, and a reasonable length. If you have tattoos they should be covered. Limit fragrances and/or perfume.

Please eat only in designated areas.

The use of vulgar, profane, or sexual language or gestures may constitute improper behavior and could lead to removal from the campus or charges of sexual harassment.  This type of behavior is not permitted while on RMH campuses or while engaged in activities as a representative of RMH.

If there is any reason you may need to deviate from these guidelines for religious or other reasons, please contact the Human Resources Department.
